Art Rooms is an initiative by that started five years ago. An old Barcelona pension located in the Old Town was restored and transformed into rooms hired by students. In the first four Art Rooms, the multifunctional nature of these spaces coexisted with artistic conceptualisation - at the end of the summer, when the students were away, the artists filled the rooms with their work and presence. Thirteen artists shared the fifth Art Rooms, but now it worked in reverse - the exhibition room of the Can Sisteré of the town of Santa Coloma de Gramenet became a habitable space. It was furnished as if it was a house, combining recycled and new furniture, design with a youthful bent, with bright colours creating its atmosphere which included the works of art forming part of an apparently everyday situation.
